Here's the Dirt...More Shop Photos from "The Clay Pot"

People always asked me to post photos of my shop.
Here are a few shots I took lately.
We are always completely changing the shop.
Painting, moving furniture, creating displays.
It's fun to change things now and then.
My goal for this spring was to create a look that was
"Creative & Quirky".
I am really pleased with the way everything turned out.
The shop looks completely different than it did four weeks ago.
Success!

Here's the Dirt.."Riverview Park", Chattanooga, Tennessee

"Riverview Park"...Circa 1939

I've had my business, The Clay Pot, in Riverview for over 17 years and don't think I've ever noticed the date on the entrance to the "Riverview Park", 1939. Wow! The park is just one block from my shop. My shop is located in a bungalow that was built in the late 20's. It is amazing and very interesting to me all the history in the area of Riverview.

"Has Been Metal Works"

I love these new items we have exclusively at The Clay Pot.
I asked Shane Wood of "Has Been Metal Works" to create
these wonderful containers using some of my galvanized pots.
They are perfect for flowers and candles.
They would look great running down a table or sideboard.
We varied the heights to add to the wow factor!
Stop by the shop and check out these great new items.

Here's the Dirt...Quince, Quince, Quince

"Quince, Quince, Quince"
If you don't have a quince plant in your yard, you need to
make sure you purchase one this spring.
The blooms are very dramatic and beautiful.
This plant of mine was grown from cuttings from
my Great Grandmother's home.
Did you know you can cut stems that are not even showing color?
Simply cut your stems and place them in a vase of water.
The blooms will last about 3-4 weeks.
I cut some stems in mid December and was able
to enjoy them over the holidays.
Quince is definitely one of my all-time
favorite spring time flowers.

Here's the Dirt...A Few Valentine Funnies!

These all have a little more "punch" when spoken with a southern, country twang...
(or as I would normally speak...and yes, they were all composed my me)

The older you get, the highter your hair,
Just that hint of blue...makes all the men stare.

Sugar Pie, Sweet Pea, Snookums, Honey,
I make the dough...and you spend my money.

I like my beer, and you like your pies,
I've got this belly...and you've got those thighs.

Does this make me look skinny?
Does this make me look fat?
Honey, you better think twice...before answering that.

Here's the Dirt..."Favorite Color" for Valentine's Day

"Favorite Color"
for Valentine's Day.
Yellow is one of my favorite colors.
It is cheery and brings people joy.
There are no rules for what color flowers you
should be sending for Valentines.
Pretty flowers are pretty flowers.
I would suggest sending flowers
in the recipient's favorite color.
Let them know you put some thought behind it.
"Favorite color for your favorite person".

Here's the Dirt...Guess Who These Belong To?

Guess who these belong to?
That's right, I've been working on more hang tags for the shop.
I've tried different types and styles, but I feel these really hit
"The Clay Pot' right on the mark.
I found the "clay pot ink stamp" in New York
while strolling down some small interesting street.
It was a good find.

Here's the Dirt...Hyacinths are in Bloom!

"Hyacinths are in Bloom!"
Hyacinths are is season now and boy do they look great!
Hyacinths are one of my favorite flowers.
They have a wonderful scent and are available in
white, purple, periwinkle and pink.
I planted these purple hyacinths in these neat pods
and embellished them with sheet moss.
Pretty neat!
Make somebody's day a little brighter with a gift of hyacinths.

Here's the Dirt..."Mums in a Can"

"Mums in a Can"
They are simply too cute!
Our "Mums in a Can" make a great hostess gift
or just a simple "thank you arrangement" for someone special.
The great thing about these arrangements is they are simple,
long lasting and make a
"big impact without breaking the bank!".
They are great used in multiples
and can be easily customized using any color fabric.
White Cushion Mums were used in the ones pictured above.
Give us call for more information.

Here's the Dirt...Blue Eggs

"Blue Eggs"
I've got a thing for eggs.
I like using them to add just a touch of color.
Add a few eggs to a small nest and placed it somewhere in your home.
I especially like featuring them inside a cloche,
grouped with a few plants.
It just says spring.
These small eggs are available at
The Clay Pot
for only .15 cents each.
Wow...what a bargain!
